KINGSTON — Just how well do you know your Bible?

A Kingston woman and two of her friends took the challenge to test their knowledge of the Good Book.

Brittni Hill, a 2005 Kingston High School graduate, and two of her co-workers will appear on the game show “American Bible Challenge” at 8 p.m., Thursday on the Game Show Network (GSN). The show is hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy

Contestants compete based on their knowledge of the Bible.

Hill will be competing with her teammates Rochelle Visser from Coopersville and Jessica Taber from Southfield. They work at Camp Mischawana in Hastings, which is a Bible summer camp for low-income inner city youths.

“It was my idea to try for the game show,” said Hill noting, they had to travel to Ohio to try out for the show. “It was a long, drawn-out day.”

It was almost two months before they knew they had been selected to participate.

“They loved our energy and our enthusiasm,” said Hill.

The American Bible Challenge is a one-hour game show utilizing current as well as historical references to create questions drawn from the  Bible. Besides competing based on their Biblical knowledge, contestants share compelling back-stories about themselves, why they are playing, and each team plays for a charity of their choice to receive the prize money.

Thursday’s competition of Hill’s group was pre-recorded.

“We will be playing for Camp Mischawana,” said Hill noting American Bible Challenge is a “pyramid” style show where the winning contestants continue to compete until the lose. “That’s all I can say about it. We aren’t allowed to tell how we did before the program airs.

“I can say we got to meet the host Jeff Foxworthy, and that was great!”

The American Bible Challenge garnered GSN its highest ratings in its 17-year history; the premiere episode was watched by over 2 million viewers and the series has been seen by over 12 million viewers. The American Bible Challenge received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations, with the show receiving one for Outstanding Game Show, and Foxworthy receiving the other for Outstanding Game Show Host.

The program’s third season started May 22.
