Aldine E. Kline, age 77, went to be with his Savior on July 24, 2014 at his home. He was born November 1, 1936 to Raymond and Gladys Kline in St. Paul, Minnesota. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lorna (Bernthal) and their sons, Michael (Eileen) from Tinley Park, Illinois, Douglas (Linda) from Caro and David (Jane) from Selmer, Tennessee and grandchildren, Patrick, Shannon and Meghan from Tinley Park and Pamela, Jonathan, Jubilee and Noelle from Selmer. Aldine and Lorna were married December 23, 1961 at Gethesame Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is survived by his brother Jerome (Marlene) from Red Wing, Minnesota and sister Patricia (Lyle) Boyd. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles and a sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Ron Wold and his parents. Aldine graduated from the U of MN, agriculture program. His first farm was in Jordan, MN before moving to Reese to the Bernthal farm. He was a journeyman grinder at several shops. At age 50, Aldine and Lorna joined the Peace Corps and were stationed in Nepal for 2 years. They also enjoyed square dancing and camping. Aldine was an elder and served on other church boards at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He went on servant event trips to Ysletta, Mexico, New Orleans Katrina clean-up, and West Virginia with St. Paul Youth Group, and was also involved at St. Paul’s servant events and other church committees. Aldine was a veteran of the Armed Forces. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Cameron Steele will officiate. The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Lutheran Church before the church service. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Hour, or to the donor’s choice. Aldine’s family would like to thank Hometown Hospice for the excellent care and support they provided.
