Dorothy Mae (June) Lincoln, 86, our loving mother and grandmother went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday August 20, 2014. Dorothy was born in Millington on May 8, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Fred and Johanna (Grunst) June; Dorothy grew up on the family farm east of Millington. After she graduated, Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper in Flint where she met her husband Calvin (Red) Lincoln. They were married on July 7, 1951 and settled in their country home in Millington. After 60 years of marriage, Calvin (Red) preceded her in death on July 5, 2011. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and later St. Martin Lutheran Church. She was very active in her church and teaching her children to love the Lord. Dorothy loved making quilts, crafting, reading, and enjoyed the outdoors. Dorothy leaves her children: daughter, Elizabeth and husband Lee Gahagan and son, Keith Lincoln; grandchildren: Adam and wife Kayla Gahagan, Lisa Gahagan, Christine Lincoln, and Mike Lincoln; great-grandchildren: Nasir Jenkins, Terrance Lincoln, Daylena Brown, Elijah and Brooke Gahagan; brother, Fred June. Besides her husband and parents, Dorothy is also preceded in death by a sister, Edna June and a brother, Bob June. Dorothy’s family has honored her request and cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 10:00 am until services begin. There will be a celebration of Dorothy’s life on Saturday, August 30, 2014 beginning at 12:00 PM. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assiting the family with the arrangements.
