Thomas W. Bradley,75, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 peacefully at his home. He was born on June 16, 1939 to the late William and Margaret Helen (Prevost) Bradley. Tom started working as a young man for the Bradley Funeral Home and continued to work until he was graduated by Midland High School in 1957. He then went on to earn his B.S. in Geography from Central Michigan University in 1961. Following that, he taught in the Harrison Schools for one year and then returned to CMU to earn his Masters degree in 1963. Tom taught in the Kingston schools and Brown City Adult Education for over 30 years. He returned to work in the funeral home industry for over 35 years coming back to his family’s business which had name changes from the Bradley Funeral Home, to the Miner-Bradley Funeral Home, to what is now the Smith-Miner Funeral Home. Tom was an active member of the Midland Historical Society. His unending knowledge of the Midland area will be greatly missed. He was also a board member for Little Forks Conservancy. Tom was a lifelong member of St. Brigid of Kildare Church.Tom is survived by his sister, Margaret (George “Dave”) Evans; and many cousins from the Prevost, Alguire, and Bradley families; and many friends.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church with Fr. Pat O’Connor officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 5-7pm at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with a vigil service at 6:30pm and on Monday from 10am at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow at Old Calvary Cemetery.
