Darlene Brandow of Akron, age 66, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at her home. She was born May 19, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of the late Bert Hess and Vetta Crawford. Darlene was self-employed as a housekeeper. Darlene married Randy Brandow on November 20, 1982 at Shabonna Church of Christ. She loved her cats and her dog, Sandy, and enjoyed canning, playing Yahtzee and Euchre and watching the TV series “The Walking Dead”. She is survived by her children, Leonard Wilcox, Jr., Duane Wilcox, April & Gus Hernandez, Lisa & John Rands; twenty-one grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven siblings, Kim Serwatowski, Kenneth Smith, Nancy Crawford, Bob Clark, Dick Clark, KD Hess and Frank Hess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wilcox; step-father, Freeman Smith; one granddaughter, Channel Wilcox; and two brothers, Don Clark and Bert Alferd Hess. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the New Hope Church in Akron with Pastor Felix Martinez officiating.
