Cleo Weiler, age 87, of Mayville, MI, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Satchell’s Christian Retirement Home, in Caro, MI. Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Mills Memorial Baptist Church, with Pastor Sam Reece officiating. The family received visitors 4-8 PM. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Avram Funeral Home of Mayville, MI, and from 10 AM. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 until time of service at the church. Internment took place at North Grove Cemetery, Mayville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayville Share Shop. Cleo was born January 5, 1927, in Watertown Township to Ernest and Frieda (Kreger) Weiler. She was a college graduate and was a teacher at several country schools. Cleo then moved to Detroit where she worked in a factory for 10 years. In later years, she moved to Illinois where she was a caregiver. Cleo returned to Mayville in 2007. She attended Mills Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Philathia Missionary Group. Cleo was a past 4-H leader and a Sunday school teacher. She loved to crochet, growing roses, and sharing good times with family and friends. Cleo is survived by four nephews: Raymond (Marilyn) Louks of Millington, MI, Ralph (Nancy) Louks of Flushing, MI, Don (Cheryl) Louks of Millington, MI, Lonnie Weiler of Mayville, MI, three nieces: Marilyn (Stan) Bickel of Mayville, MI, Marie (Don) LaCount of South Branch, MI, and Norma (Al) Turek of Mayville, MI, and several great nieces and nephews. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Elroy Weiler, one sister: Laurel Louks, one nephew: Alvin Louks, and a special friend, Art Duringer.
