Peggy R. Gilmore, age 62, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky. Peggy was born February 6, 1952 in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late Ona Richard and Evelyn (Upchurch) Ramsay and grew up in the San Diego area. In 1968, she moved to Michigan with her husband, Eric Montague, and was later united in marriage with Michael Gilmore on January 13, 2004 in Caro. She and Michael moved to Austin, Kentucky in 2008. Peggy was employed with Walmart for nearly twenty years, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. Peggy had an endless ability to love and care for family and friends, and will be missed greatly by those who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Gilmore of Austin, Kentucky; five children and their spouses, Sheila and Kevin Nicholas of Vassar, Erica and Gerald Dibble of Caro, Sabrina and David Pickering of North Branch, Cathy and Dave Dillon of Marlette, Curt and Terra Gilmore of Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; eight siblings, Ona, Alvus, Verma, Kay, Sandra, Connie, Ray and Cynthia; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by six siblings, Charles, Donald, Armond, Billy, Brenda and Gwenda. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Final prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
