Jeanette Janson, Frankenmuth

Jeanette Janson, 85, of Frankenmuth, long-time resident of Reese, died unexpectedly, Friday, October 31, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. She was born March 25, 1929 in Richville, daughter of the late Elmer and Rose (Bauer) Buchinger. She was a 1947 graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. On February 25, 1950 she was married to Howard E. Janson in Richville. He predeceased her April 20, 2010. Jeanette was a long time member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese and was involved in many church groups, activities and organizations. She will be fondly remembered for being active with fundraising activities for Reese High School and running the concession stand for many years. Her greatest love was being with children and grandchildren and spending time at her second home in Houghton Lake. Surviving are her five children and their spouses, Sue and John Schluckbier of Reese, Kay and Dave Manderfeld of Kenosha, WI, Bob and Martha Janson of Grand Blanc, Tom and Ann Janson of Reese, and Amy and Russell Struble of Frankenmuth; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Bierlein and her husband, Howard of Reese; and one brother, Robert Buchinger and his wife Doris of Richville. In addition to her parents and husband, Howard, Jeanette was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Zwerk; her brothers, George, Don and Jack Buchinger and her triplet brothers, Karl and Paul Buchinger.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Sue Trinklein officiated and committal services followed in the Denmark Township Cemetery. Jeanette’s family received friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Monday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Christ Lutheran Church or the St. Lorenz Media Ministry in Frankenmuth.
