FREMONT TWP. — Tuscola County prosecutors accuse a 29-year-old Mount Morris Township woman with stabbing her boyfriend from Flint at a residence in Fremont Township on Tuesday night.
Tanya A. Carlson would face up to life in prison if convicted of assault with intent to commit murder in connection with the attack against her 32-year-old boyfriend. She also is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and with possession of marijuana.
The scene of the alleged crimes, near Mayville, is the home of a friend of either Carlson or her boyfriend, according to Michigan State Police at the Caro post, who said the boyfriend survived the stabbing incident. Police said the victim was taken to Caro Community Hospital, though hospital employees declined comment. The victim’s condition wasn’t immediately available.
Carlson remains in the Tuscola County Jail in lieu of posting a $30,000 cash bond set by Tuscola County Magistrate Joseph A. Van Auken.
She awaits a hearing on the evidence at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 17. The Tuscola County Advertiser could not reach Carlson’s lawyer, Caro attorney Duane Burgess, for comment.
