Hugh D. Walls passed away unexpectedly on the Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home in Stanton Township, Houghton, Michigan. He was born in 1956 in Kingston, Michigan, the son of Rex and Evelyn Walls. He is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Bruce of Kingston, Glen (Cheryl) of Yuba City, California, Lois (Richard) Stotter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Chris (Melanie) of Houghton, Mary-Lou (Dennis) Hart of Everett, Washington. He also has 4 nieces: Maureen Milligan, Alana Hart, Jennifer Stotter, and Rachel Walls; 4 nephews: Nathan Walls, Jason Stotter, Justin Stotter, and Patrick Walls. He thought the world of his nieces and nephews as he had no children of his own. Hugh was an Army veteran of more than 20 years and when he retired, he came to Houghton to be with family and have a place of his own. He enjoyed his sizable garden and berry picking in the summer. Chores around the yard and holidays with family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Services for Hugh will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 201 Isle Royale Street, Houghton, Michigan 49931.
