Carol Ann Stec of Fairgrove, age 55, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born August 27, 1958 in Petoskey, the daughter of the late Bradley and Esther (Hankins) Jacobs. Carol was a graduate of Alpena High School, attended Delta College, and did her clinicals for nursing at Saginaw General Hospital and Midland E.R. Carol was united in marriage with Steven Stec on August 20, 1977 in Alpena. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Saginaw General Hospital, and retired from the Caro Regional Center. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and teaching the Bible to them, and enjoyed scrap booking and playing cards. Carol was a long time servant of Jehovah and dedicated her life to him on June 28, 1974. She was devoted to her Pioneer service spending many hours in the preaching work. Carol is survived by her husband, Steven Stec of Fairgrove; three children and their spouses, Travis (Dalia) Stec of Fairgrove, Misty (Mark) Schultz of Fairgrove, and Wayne (Mary) Stec of Caro; five grandchildren, Yasmine, Ashton, Lizzy, Hunter and Tristan; six siblings and their spouses, Donna Richards of Alpena, Colleen (Bill) Lee of North Carolina, Susan Winker of Missouri, Bobby (Alana) Herzog, Jr. of Trenary, Dana (Katherine) Burnell of Washington, Beth (Troy) Dennis of Caro; her aunt and uncle, John and Vivian Merrill of Alpena; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Caro with Bill Louks officiating. The family will receive friends at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
