DOROTHY M. ELMY, Caro

Dorothy May Elmy of Caro, age 90, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro with her loving family at her side. She was born November 11, 1923 in Caro, the daughter of the late Harrison and Mabel (Vroman) Sutherland.  She was united in marriage with Edward Elmy on December 31, 1944, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1968.  Dorothy was employed in housekeeping at the Caro Regional Center until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro, the JOY group as well as the S.E.R.A. Group at the Caro Regional Center.  She enjoyed watching old western movies, loved being with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, one son, and their spouses, Edna & Arnold Sattelberg of Caro, Bonnie Elmy of Caro, Edward & Karen Elmy, all of Caro; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Harriet Fibranz of Caro; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Loretta, Norma and Bertha.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating.  Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church Parking Lot Fund.  The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.  Friends may share memories, thoughts and prayers online at www.RansfordCollon.com.
