Pauline E. (Rigel) Missler, Vassar

Pauline Evelyn Missler, age 87 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Clare Bridge of Saginaw, with her family at her side.  She was born on May 16, 1926 in Dundee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Merritt Joseph and Mae L. (Kratzer) Rigel.  Pauline graduated from Dundee High School in 1944.  She married Robert James Missler on July 12, 1946, in Dundee and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2005. Bob and Pauline operated and owned Farmer’s Market & Supply, later known as Petersburg Elevator, Inc. in Petersburg from 1955 to 1984.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar.  Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved crocheting, crafts, beading, puzzles, cards, games and almost anything she could do with family.  Surviving family include her daughter, Kathy Fricke of Vassar and son, Gary (Cindy) Missler of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Gina (Garrett) Fickle of Quincy, Michigan, Jon Fricke of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Zachary (Kristin) Fricke of North Muskegon, Michigan and Katlyn (Alan) Ellison of Reese, Michigan; eight great-grandchildren, Lucy, Oliver, Annika, Piper, Layla, Freya, Grace and Sadie. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 14, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar, 250 W. Huron Ave in Vassar.  Pastor Doug Abel officiating.  The family will greet friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar.  A memorial service will also be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Petersburg United Methodist Church, 152 Saline St. in Petersburg.  Pastor Joel Walther officiating, with burial to follow at Pleasantview Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Petersburg United Methodist Church.   Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.
