Sybil Ann Lane, Formerly of Vassar

Sybil Ann Lane, formerly of Vassar, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Stone Crest Assisted Living in Freeland.  She was born September 15, 1938 in Munger, the daughter of Arnold and Margaret (Bublitz) Framke.  She graduated from Bay City Central in 1956.  She married Robert Lane on February 15, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bay City.  Sybil was an Avon “lady” for many years after they moved to Saginaw.   While raising her children in Vassar, she spent many hours volunteering as an election poll worker, organizing Red Cross Blood drives and participating in many activities at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.  She also volunteered as a driver and as an EMT for the Vassar Area Ambulance Service.  Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing and crafts.  She and Bob enjoyed many years traveling around the country and made many life-long friends in their journeys.  She is survived by her husband  Bob Lane, her two sons, her daughter and their spouses, Bob and Janet Lane of Midland, Chris Lane and Cindy Engelhart of Vassar, and Jeff and Lori (Lane) Murphy of Midland; grandchildren Matthew Lane and Amy Lane, Ryan Lane, Ashley (Lane) Norman, Evan Lane and Quentin Lane, Katelyn Murphy and Brandon Murphy; and a great-grandson Davin Kowitz.  She is also survived by her mother Margaret Framke of Bay City and mother-in-law Wanita Lane; her siblings and their spouses Stuart and Mary Jo Framke of Bay City, and Jerry and Sandy (Framke) Lowe of Standish and many other extended Framke and Lane family members. She was preceded in death by her father Arnold Framke.  In keeping with Sybil’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Reigle Funeral Home Sunset Chapel, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing Michigan.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  The family wishes to extend an extra thank you to the caring staff at Stone Crest Assisted Living.  Those desiring to make a memorial contribution may consider Stone Crest Assisted Living of Freeland or Dayton Heights Community Church of Flint Township.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www. reiglefuneralhome.com.
