Robert J. Buchinger Sr. Reese

Robert J. Buchinger Sr., 79, of Reese, died Saturday evening, December 27, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. He was born November 28, 1935 in Denmark Township, Tuscola County, son of the late Elmer and Rose (Bauer) Buchinger. On May 4, 1957 he married the former Doris Mayer in the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Mr. Buchinger was former employee of the Frankenmuth Brewery before starting his own construction company. He was a member of the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville, enjoyed being at his shop, reading, golfing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and hunting.  Surviving besides his wife Doris are his four sons and one daughter, Tim Buchinger and Thomas Buchinger, both of Richville; Anthony Buchinger and his wife Sonja of Vassar; Robert Buchinger Jr. and his wife Wendy of Reese and Terri Buchinger of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Chad (Amy) Buchinger, Justin (Shannon) Britton, Brandon (Hollie) Britton, Bree Buchinger, Shane Buchinger and his fiancée, Myriah, Britany Buchinger, Tiffany Buchinger and three great-grandchildren, John, Joe and Caidence. Also surviving are his sister, Florence Bierlein and her husband Howard of Reese. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by three brothers, George, Donald and E. Jack Buchinger and two sisters, Geraldine Zwerk and Jeanette Janson.  Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Rob Gadeken and Rev. Wesley Gillaspie will both officiate with committal services to follow in the St. Michael’s Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Robert’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St in Reese on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Michael’s Lutheran Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
